Uwe Lausen

1941 Stuttgart – 1970 Beilstein near Stuttgart

Moved to Munich 1961, where he began to paint as an autodidact in the environment of the artistic group „SPUR“. Joined the Situationist International, a culturally revolutionary movement founded by Guy Debord and Asger Jorn. Since 1962 numerous solo and group exhibitions mainly in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. Dedicated artist’s room in the permanent show at Pinakothek der Moderne, Munich. 2010/11 major retrospective of Uwe Lausen at Schirn Kunsthalle, Frankfurt, Museum Villa Stuck, Munich, Sammlung Falckenberg, Hamburg. Represented in collections of the most renowned museums of Germany.
