CARL GROSSBERG
Born 1894 in Elberfeld
near Wuppertal - died 1940 in Laon, France.
Grossberg studied at the Kunstakademie Weimar
and at the Bauhaus in Weimar.
His works were shown in the Neue Sachlichkeit
Ausstellung in Mannheim 1926 and
in Amsterdam 1928. He is a representative of New
objectivity or Magic Realisme.
A retrospective took place in 1994 in the Von
der Heydt-Museum, Wuppertal,
Kunsthalle Tübingen, Kunsthalle zu Kiel and
Sinclair-Haus in Bad Homburg.
His works are owned by renowned national and international
museums and private collections worldwide.
Gallery Hasenclever showed his work in an acclaimed
exhibition 1999 and 2003.
